Online Services

We now offer you the ability to order your  repeat prescriptions online.

To register with this service, simply request a username and password from our reception team. They will print this out for you, only you will have a copy of this, the surgery will not have access to this information, therefore if you lose the username or password you must come back into surgery and register again and you will be given a new username and pasword.

Please wait 24hours for the usermane to activate. You can then click on the icon to the right of this screen "order repeat prescriptios online", this will take you to a page that will ask your username and password that you were given. You are now able to order your repeat prescription.

Please be aware that for repeat prescriptions you must allow 2 working days before coming to collect. Before coming for your repeat precription please call the surgery on 0116 246 1311 and we can check that your prescription is ready for collection.

If you have any questions or queries about this service please speak to our reception team or call us on the surgery number.

Medical Interoperabiility Gateway (MIG)

Whilst the 'Summary Care Record'  (SCR) system makes a very small protion of your medical record available across the whole NHS (and can be viewed by a range of staff in an emergency), the MIG shares a much fuller view of your records but only with local NHS providers- and only when you give explicit consent to a doctor or nurse at the point of care. This local shceme is adminstered by our local I.T. Service Commissioners who have produced a fact sheet to inform you of these processes. If you should like to opt out of the MIG entirely please let us know and we will add a code to your notes that will prevent any data uploads.

Procedure:

  1. We will reduce the problematic tooth for a proper crown fit

  2. An impression will be taken of your bite for crown fabrication

  3. The color of porcelain prosthetics can then be customized

  4. We will fit you with a temporary crown until the lab makes your permanent one

  5. You will come in again for permanent crown fitting

Bridges

To replace a missing tooth that has neighboring teeth with decay and/or large fillings, or a tooth that has been missing for a long time (i.e., with gum recession around the area), we recommend bridges as opposed to dental implants.

Types of Bridges:

  • Traditional  Caps are bonded over teeth that lie on either side of the missing one
  • Cantilever  Cap is bonded over a single tooth next to the missing one
  • Resin-bonded  Porcelain or plastic teeth with gums that are supported by metal “wings”

Veneers

If you’re looking to cosmetically correct or enhance the appearance of one or more teeth, we suggest veneers. They are very thin, porcelain or resin shells that you can customize in color and shape. They are non-invasive and are resistant to future stains.

Common uses for veneers:

  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Misshapen or irregular teeth
  • Teeth that do not respond to traditional whitening treatments
